What Do The Friends Of
The Denison Public Library Do?
First of all . . . We enjoy the Library itself. And we help others
enjoy the Library. Some of us serve on the Friends Board of Directors. Some of
us volunteer services and advice in the Library helping to repair equipment,
check out books, and teach people to read better, and tell stories to children.
We
buy books, plant trees, fund staff development and training, and promote
children's literacy projects such as "Read to Win" and the
"Summer Reading Club." The financial support of the Friends of the
Denison Public Library allows all of us to enjoy a better library, and serve
our community as well.
For
over fifty years the Denison Public Library has provided the best books for the
most people at the least cost. And books remain the best source for information
and knowledge. Yet, the Library has something for everyone, not just books--but
videos, magazines, and public access to the Internet!
