Any individual or business interested in promoting the library is eligible to become a member of the Friends of the Sherman Public Library. Yearly dues are $15 for individuals, and range upward for families and various levels of patrons. Each adult member of the organization may vote at the annual meeting and may serve, if elected, on the board of directors.

Book Sale
The Fall Book Sale will be in September 2009 in conjunction with the Sherman Artsfest downtown. Friends members can attend a special book sale preview from 5-7pm that Friday, September 18, before it is open to the public. Not a member? Call or visit the Sherman Public Library to find out how you can become one! Membership costs are also listed on the bottom of this page. Everyone will be able to shop Saturday, September 19, from 8am-4pm.
We always need Friends members to volunteer to help set up for the sale, sell books, and clean up afterwards. If you want to help, please contact the Sherman Public Library!
Donations for the Book Sale can be made at the Sherman Public Library.

Reader's
Forum
The Readers
Forum meets on the third Monday of each month at 1:30 p.m.
in the Rare Books Room at the Sherman Public Library. There are no
officers, no dues, and the discussion is limited to one hour. The only
requirement is to read the book and be prepared to talk about it. The
titles of the books to be discussed are posted by the checkout desk. You
are welcome at any time to join the forum.

Each program begins at Noon in the Hope Waller Community Room.
Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch.
